When I was a child, I would put on an apron that my sister made for me; walk into the kitchen and declare to my mom, “I’m the cooker now”. And so, the love of cooking continued throughout my life.
I think there is a genetic component to my passion for baking that comes from my father. He was a dentist but was also known for his cookies.

I think there is a genetic component to my passion for baking that comes from my father. He was a dentist but was also known for his cookies. Dad would make our lunches for school and invariably a food swap bidding war would ensue over Dad’s cookies. Upon his passing to honor his reputation as a cookie baker, my sisters and I made his three most popular cookies to hand out at his celebration of life service. Each package contained one cookie with a sticker on the front that had his life span from birth to heaven as well as this statement that described him to a “T”: “Oscar’s joy in life was not only bringing you happiness with a plate full of his homemade cookies, but it was also letting you have the last one. Enjoy.”
Knowing that my cookies bring happiness to others, in turn gives me a sense of delight and joy.

I always use fresh ingredients and bake one batch at a time. Over the years my recipes and techniques have resulted in the best cookies, scones, and banana bread that keep people coming back for more.
